Nuclear energy and radioactivity

The Nuclear Energy Supervision and Radiation Protection Division is Baden-Württemberg’s statutory nuclear inspectorate. The Division’s remit is to monitor whether nuclear power plants and other nuclear installations in Baden-Württemberg are being run safely. The Division also monitors radioactivity in the environment. Up-to-date information, including in particular about reportable events occurring in nuclear power plants in Baden-Württemberg and the work of official bodies, can be found in the german section of the website.

Information about the organisation and management systems operated by the authority can be found under the heading “Organisation and management”. The “Nuclear installations” section provides an overview of nuclear power plants in Baden-Württemberg and just across the border in neighbouring countries. The “Monitoring nuclear installations” section describes the methods used to oversee nuclear energy. Further information is available under the headings “Disposal” and “Environmental radioactivity”. The "Documents" section provides various downloadable German documents.
