Ministry
The Ministry began work on 1 July 1987.
The Ministry has been headed by Minister Tanja Gönner since 27 April 2005.
The Ministry’s seven departments and approximately 470 staff are responsible for environmental policy, ecology, waste management, industry and business, water and soil, nuclear energy supervision and environmental radioactivity, nature conservation and transport.
The Baden-Württemberg Academy of Nature Conservation and Environmental Protection is also part of the Ministry.
The Ministry of the Environment, Nature Conservation and Transport works from three locations: Kernerplatz 9, Hauptstätter Straße 67 and Dillmannstraße 3 (Academy).
